MEDIA ROOTS — On Monday, November 14, 2011, award-winning journalist and best-selling author Greg Palast gave a stirring talk at the First Congregational Church in Berkeley, CA to discuss his new book, “about the 1%,” Vultures’ Picnic: In Pursuit of Petroleum Pigs, Power Pirates, and High-Finance Carnivores.
Palast discussed the 1% and why we occupy Wall Street and beyond, acknowledging the significance of the worldwide Occupy Movement, and recounted fascinating stories from his globe-trotting investigations that went into the making of his book Vultures’ Picnic.

Well, it’s clear that these Oil Giants have a certain m.o. they fololw first, just don’t give a damn about safety or consideration for the environment Greed Rules -second, go after whistle blowers and enforce a police state and use all kinds of intimidation, not mention outright spying on people Very nasty. What stands out for me is the Chevon/Amazon Disaster, where the chief’s son went swimming in oil polluted water (all Chevron’s fault), came out of the water vomiting and died shortly thereafter.A pattern really has emerged of the gross disregard for Anything even remotely moral, with these Oil Giants.Is is too much to ask that they get brought down? At any rate I’m glad that Greg Palast is doing his important investigative work and that Mike, RFK Jr. and others are doing their important Law work, against these corporate monsters.
