The Disney Blob, George Lucas Betrayal & the Staying Power of Lovecraft w/ Leslie Lee III

Posted on by

While Abby is off touring the country to screen her new film ‘Gaza Fights for Freedom’ Robbie holds down the fort and brings on special guest Leslie Lee III from the Struggle Session podcast to have a wide ranging discussion on Disney’s ‘woke points’, the sagging Marvel Cinematic Universe and their betrayal of Star Wars creator George Lucas (who called Disney ‘white slavers’). The last third of the discussion turns to the idea of public domain fiction that can’t be ‘bought’ by a corporation and why Leslie thinks horror writer H.P. Lovecraft still has so much staying power today. Leslie also addresses Lovecraft’s ‘virulent’ racist views but explains how those are not necessarily central to his actual horror writings.
