Never Stop Breaking the Set

RT has given me opportunities I will be eternally thankful for and hosting Breaking the Set has been the best and most invaluable experience of my life. I never imagined the kind of support it would generate, proving how many people are hungry for raw truth and systemic change.

Throughout the course of the show, I’m most proud of the stories we’ve done on the road – Pine Ridge, Detroit, Gulf Coast, Guantanamo Bay and soon to be released Cuba. As such, after almost three years of reporting from the studio I’ve decided to focus on investigative field reporting.

Please note I’m not stopping or going anywhere. If I can’t find a platform to host my show vision with the same editorial freedom, I will turn to crowdsourcing. And until I establish my next venture I’ll be writing daily, podcasting, producing video shorts and doing talks around the world.

Please follow me on facebook, youtubetwitter and my website Media Roots to stay tuned.

I’m excited to put all my heart into the last two weeks of the most hard hitting show on TV and celebrate a great run, all of which wouldn’t have been possible without you.

Much love and appreciation to everyone for supporting me and my future endeavors.

Never Stop Breaking the Set.

Abby

  1. I am so sorry to hear the news of your departure from Breaking the Set. All the very best for your future, Abby. You and your programme on RT have been a breath of fresh air over the past 3 years.

I shall keep a lookout for your next project – you are one of the best communicators I have seen on TV for many years. Your tenacity and vigour in seeking out the story and delivering the truth can’t be beaten by any on the MSM outlets.

Keep up the good work and take care – we need people like you to turn over the stones.

  2. Abby, I’ve watched BTS on youtube every day for almost three years. It was a ritual for me, I would sit down, have my dinner and watch and listen to you guide me through all the important relevant news that I would never get elsewhere, from the little human interest pieces, to the large scale disasters and war stories It was so eye-opening to get the “other side” of the story regarding national and international events which were otherwise being put through the mainstream spin cycle. I appreciated the way you drilled down through the facts that no one else was telling us. You must have some great chase producers and interns. I also enjoyed your rants and sense of humor.

When I read that the show was ending I almost cried. It means I’ll never see you in that helicopter again, never catch you wearing that Jetsons outfit anymore, never see you wielding that sword again, never see you glance back and point at the background screen in that adorable way you used to, never hear your sarcastic intros again, probably never see you rock a man’s necktie again. I’ll never get another brainwash update, and I’ll never get a chance to watch you saunter up to that glass interview table where you talked to so many incredible and enlightening guests (where did you find them all?).

I wish you all the best in your next project. You are so talented that you could do almost anything and be successful. Your artwork is amazing and I tell everyone I know to check it out. Field reporting sounds exciting. A chance to get out of the studio and actually go to where the stories are happening. Please be careful out there.

It’s breaking my heart knowing Breaking the Set is ending. Hopefully, you’ll still end up in front of the camera some place.

Abigail Suzanne Martin, I will really miss my daily ritual, my secret little youtube affair that I had with you. This break up of Breaking the Set hurts. But wherever you go and whatever you do, I hope we’ll all get the chance to go down a different rabbit hole with you again sometime soon.

    Love you Abby!
