The minority group benefits by being awarded superior class status over the majority being subjugated.

When the colonial power departs there’s a backlash against the minority group for selling out to the colonial oppressor.

You can see this happening today in Iraq with the spawning of ISIS in defense of Shia reprisal against the Sunnis.

Soon we will see it in Afghanistan when the Taliban reasserts itself after an inevitable departure of US troops.
