Never Stop Breaking the Set

RT has given me opportunities I will be eternally thankful for and hosting Breaking the Set has been the best and most invaluable experience of my life. I never imagined the kind of support it would generate, proving how many people are hungry for raw truth and systemic change.

Throughout the course of the show, I’m most proud of the stories we’ve done on the road – Pine Ridge, Detroit, Gulf Coast, Guantanamo Bay and soon to be released Cuba. As such, after almost three years of reporting from the studio I’ve decided to focus on investigative field reporting.

Please note I’m not stopping or going anywhere. If I can’t find a platform to host my show vision with the same editorial freedom, I will turn to crowdsourcing. And until I establish my next venture I’ll be writing daily, podcasting, producing video shorts and doing talks around the world.

Please follow me on facebook, youtubetwitter and my website Media Roots to stay tuned.

I’m excited to put all my heart into the last two weeks of the most hard hitting show on TV and celebrate a great run, all of which wouldn’t have been possible without you.

Much love and appreciation to everyone for supporting me and my future endeavors.

Never Stop Breaking the Set.

Abby

  1. I have just watched your final edition of BTS. Now I have wiped away the tears I thought I would send you this to back up what you said about the need for us all to have independent minds and the need to bring us all together across the world.

The following is the English translation of a wonderful song written by Robert Burn’s, Scotland’s National Poet, in 1795.

    A Man’s a Man for a’That.

    Is there for honest poverty
That hangs his head, and all that?
The coward slave, we pass him by –
We dare be poor for all that!
For all that, and all that,
Our toils obscure, and all that,
The rank is but the guinea’s stamp,
The man’s the gold for all that.

What though on homely fare we dine,
Wear rough grey tweed, and all that?
Give fools their silks, and knaves their wine –
A man is a man for all that.
For all that, and all that,
Their tinsel show, and all that,
The honest man, though ever so poor,
Is king of men for all that.

You see that fellow called ‘a lord’,
Who struts, and stares, and all that?
Though hundreds worship at his word,
He is but a dolt for all that.
For all that, and all that,
His ribbon, star, and all that,
    The man of independent mind,
He looks and laughs at all that.

A prince can make a belted knight,
A marquis, duke, and all that!
But an honest man is above his might –
Good faith, he must not fault that
For all that, and all that,
    Their dignities, and all that,
The pith of sense and pride of worth
Are higher rank than all that.

Then let us pray that come it may
(As come it will for a’ that)
That Sense and Worth over all the earth
Shall take the prize and all that!
For all that, and all that,
It is coming yet for all that,
That man to man the world over
Shall brothers be for all that.

  2. I’m so confused why breaking the set is stopping, recently I find this alternative news I was so happy with, finely I knew I wasn’t crazy I’m not the conspiracy, they are… Abby last night I cried with you.

  3. Stunned & feeling kinda numb losing BTS, but I know you are destined for even greater achievements!! You have helped so many break into the reality of our psychopathic government and corrupt corporations etc., and are a major force in creating the paradigm shift so many of us have been longing to have happen! Can’t wait to see where life takes you next.

  4. NOOOOO!!!! Will _so_ miss “Breaking the Set.” Such a loss to the broadcast news [available]. Should I not appreciate RT as much as I _did_???! (“If I can’t find a platform to host my show vision with the same editorial freedom…”) Forget “appreciate,” now I wonder about “trust”…hmmm.
