While I applaud you for attempting to bring light to problems in the VA and the high suicide rate, i think you bombed this one. Vets commit suicide because articles like this make them feel worthless; not because the VA didn't see them quick enough.

"Most do so because there are no jobs and no hope" - I would love to see where you got this statistic...Please Please Please show me where 51% of active military or veterans said they joined because of no jobs/hope....especially during the last 13 years of war.

Also, did you ever embed with any military units in Iraq/Afghanistan? Cause wow! You sure have us figured out. Especially the infantrymen; yep, not an ounce of empathy...blood, blood, blood...that makes the grass grow. Watch something besides Full Metal Jacket, then try to write an article.

I love your work. I follow you on facebook. I also have followed Naomi Wolf along time. Years ago the Iraq war death toll number was a great deal higher than what has been claimed the past few years. I recall reading it being at 2 million and both the Iraq Government and US Government stopped counting at that time and this was long before it was over. That article said the number was more like 3 million. There are some other numbers that have changed also, it appears to me numbers that are high that make the US look bad get smaller over time, and numbers that make us look good get larger over time, that is true on many things. I also noticed on Naomi's page the military seems to think you are against them, reporting this stuff, its strange, but Naomi has been attacked for pointing these things out. If you look around you will find a few years back the head Military shrink quit because the Military knows they can not push the Troops as hard as the have been, they know this is going to do great harm ,yet they have pushed them into combat more than any other war in history, they are doing far more mission with less breaks in between, the head shrink said .Sorry I forget where I saw her talk about this, but the info is out there.Basically they know the people are going to break down, but they don't care.
