I personally do not support the death penalty either. In my youth I would argue passionately in favor OF the death penalty, an eye for an eye mentality, but with the emergence of DNA evidence I realized how many innocent people were wrongly accused after 25 + years on death row and now I staunchly oppose it. “More importantly, I would rather have one murderer live out the rest of their life than (literally) sponsor the murder of one innocent person.” I think that quite eloquently explains it all.
